Somatropin is a natural compound already found in the human body. In its synthetic form it is administered in cases where a déficit in endogenous concentration is present, and with the objetive of causing relief from the associated disorder, during the entire life span of each person.

Chemical compound and production

The growth hormone somatropin (STH) stimulates the organism´s growth. The growth hormone is a result of a family of genes, 4 placental and 1, the most important. Pituitary; this one is also know as gene Hgh.n

The expression of this gene produces 1 single protein with a soul chain of 191 amino acids and 22 kDa in weight, secreted by the last pituitary or adenohypophysis in response to the production of the liberating factor of the growth hormone (GHRF, growth hormone reeling factor) in the hypothalamus.

Now there are other forms or alternative splicing derived from isomers. The most abundant (ratio 1:9 approximately with the 22kDa) weights 20 kDa. What regulates the secretion of pituitary causes the discontinued flow of somatostatin to the previous pituitary causes a reléase of GH; it is important that the discontinuation of hypothalamic discharge of somatostatin produce a hypothalamic synchronized release of GHRH in, the releasin factor.
